Here the pronunciation /f/ usually sounds “wrong” to speakers from northern and central Germany, though it is normal in Austria, Switzerland, South Tyrol, and (partially) southern Germany. Northern speakers may also use /v/ in other words (e.g. inflections of schief, steif), but these are informal.
